What I like most about this one is how you see the gradual thaw in their relationship (deft use of canon with the Shakespeare incident, by the way). By the end, with Louis and Lestat conspiratoral and happier, and with Lestat only able to show his love for Louis with things like the coat and telling him he hates him... I just loved it. Fantastic story.
Author's Response: Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. Too bad Louis didn't say that much about their interaction when Claudia lived, and I always wondered. I've heard some recent Anne Rice news about a graphic novel about Interview with the Vampire but from Claudia's point of view being published and I'm really excited about it. Hopefully she tells more about Louis and Lestat's relationship :)
