Interesting pairing, and so perceptive about character. I really liked this line:

"Armand would move through the trees with a fluid grace, she was sure. Children always do. They are at home just above the ground, and Armand could try to deny it, but he would like it even now."

Nice insight into Armand, and subtle reminder that Gabrielle did after all bear seven children, much as she tends to forget it.
